|Good banks in the area

Hi there! I hope people still use this group. I am looking for a bank to start an account with. I've asked a few friends but they're options differed a great deal. What I am looking for in a bank and or credit union is:|
atms around the city
If I place money in the bank, I would like to be able to get to it withing a day or so.
I think that's all I am looking for.
Thanks for any help!
I have had good luck with Commerce Bank (started because they have a location on the WSU campus). They make $100 of any deposit available immediately and I've never had them hold a check longer than 1 full business day, of course that depends on where the funds are from I assume. I have heard horror stories about Bank of America.
I don't pay anything for checking with Commerce, there are ATMs all over, and I used to deposit my paycheck at an ATM after hours and yeah, they make $100 available immediately any time I deposit a check for at least that much. I've just started using their online banking tools to track my balance online, and I'm really satisfied with the service I've received.
When I lived there, I used Meritrust (which used to be Boeing's Credit Union).
They never put a hold on any of my checks, had several ATMs and Branches and even the mobile branch.
I personally use Intrust and they've never put a hold on any of my checks before. I've always had great customer service with them. Plus, their ATMs are inside Dillons & QT, which are everywhere. My brother & parents do their banking with Meritrust and they love it, too.
I would avoid BoA, and I've also had decent luck with Intrust. They're not a small local bank, so their policies are pretty assholish, but just don't bounce anything. They have ATMs seriously all over the place, which is nice.
Intrust does have the most ATM's, but I'm a Commerce user myself. We have several local Credit Unions (the Boeing/Meritrust was mentioned) that have good reviews from friends who use them, but they are limited on ATM's.
As busychild424 mentioned, avoid BoA (Bank of America) at all costs (unless you like being charged fees incorrectly, and having them refuse to credit you)!
